First Presbyterian Church of Saline (FPC) opens its facilities to members, non- profit organizations, and the public for approved uses for a fee. In letting the facilities be used, the leadership of the church wants to make sure they are used to the benefit of members and the community at large, while being respected and well cared for in the process. Rental requests are to be submitted to the office for approval, and are only considered booked when the 50% deposit is made and the office has confirmed calendar availability. Unforeseen emergency situations (i.e. water issues in the city, power outages, building issues) are not FPC’s responsibility.
General Usage Information
First Presbyterian Church welcomes Renters to our facilities, and will assign Renters the space requested and/or best suited to needs specified. Please use only the space assigned, regardless of whether or not other people are in the building. Renters are responsible for the setup and cleanup of the space. Please note how it looks when upon arrival, and ensure that it is returned to the same condition upon departure unless other arrangements have been made. Additional charges could apply if Renter leaves the space in need of major cleaning and/or furniture reset. See additional note on damages below.
NOT PERMITTED on FPC premises are: alcohol, marijuana, controlled substances, firearms, weapons, open flames except for approved no-drip candles and appropriate food-serving items like sternos. No smoking of any kind is allowed in our building; please properly dispose of all smoking remains if you choose to smoke outside.
Any organization not associated with FPC using our building certifies by signing this document that they have their own sexual misconduct policy and child/youth protection policy and that all volunteers and staff working for the organization will be bound by those policies while working for them. FPC has its own policies for its volunteers, members, and staff. If an organization does not have their own policies, then they agree to abide by FPC policies, which will be provided.
The Renter indemnifies and holds First Presbyterian harmless from any and all third-party claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of the use of the FPC facility by itself, its members, volunteers, staff, guests, or invitees. FPC assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to property of Renters. Any provision of storage space for renter use is on a space available basis and at the risk of the renter.
Arrangements will be made to provide a code for the Renter to enter/depart from the building during the time frame arranged. Renter may not share this code with others.
Children are to be supervised at all times. Parents/caregivers are responsible for cleaning up after their children.
Renters will follow local and state codes for fire safety, noise, and more. Please refrain from any conduct which might disturb other users of the building or the neighbors.
FPC does NOT have a food safety certified kitchen. Therefore Renter may serve food, or keep food warm using their own standard equipment like sternos, but not prepare any food for sale or distribution that would violate Michigan state law.
If Renter needs extra equipment (i.e. piano, sound board or sound system, etc.), arrangements for training must be made prior to rental dates. Extra fees or a security deposit may apply.
DAMAGES: If an item is damaged or destroyed during rental usage, the renter will be billed for full repair or replacement, whichever is deemed appropriate. If a security deposit was placed, that deposit will be applied first to the cost, then the remainder billed.
For cleanup, please ensure all trash is deposited in cans behind the building (on north side by city parking lot), floors swept or vacuumed, lights turned off, and doors locked. Cleaning/bathroom supplies are located in the closet across from the bathrooms on the main floor.
